The Renaissance Project was originally conceived as a two-part symposium that took place in June 2021 and June 2022. The Renaissance Project Symposium was sponsored by grants from the Alliance to Advance Liberal Colleges, The Academic Deans Professional Development Network Grant at the Claremont Colleges, as well as the Hirsch Research Initiation Grant, and the English Department at Pomona College.
In June 2021, twenty-five scholars convened for a virtual seminar series around topics including “Theoretical Coordinates,” “Poetry and Criticism,” and “Pedagogy, Practice, and Process.”

In June 2022, another group of scholars convened at The Claremont Colleges in California for a seminar series regarding topics such as the “Student as Parasite,” “The Chinese Tragedy of King Lear,” and “Renaissance Futures.”
